Teach your children these lessons that the rich teach their children (part-3)

Reading Time: 11 minutes

Hello everyone, this is third & probably the last part of this article. as we have already shared with you some of the most important lessons that rich teach their kids. if you haven’t read those article read those first here(1), here(2). we have put together a lot of value in them.

The major differences between Rich & poor are they see potential growth, take responsibility for the results in their lives, and act upon the mindset. Rich people are committed enough to do whatever it takes. They see opportunities and focus on rewards while poor see obstacles and focus on the risks. With that said, let’s get started with the 3rd part. Shall we?

before starting with the article we need to clear something. we are not saying you should teach this lesson your when they are under 13-14 years.

our purpose of this article is to provide information that you become aware of things. Rest of it is your choice.

1.Emotional intelligence

Poor people think that IQ is really important if you want to be rich or successful.

The truth is, having a high IQ could be a bonus, but it’s not what will make you rich. High IQs rarely correlate to financial success. Because money isn’t the result of word comprehension, math skills, abstract and spatial thinking, but instead it has to do with understanding how people work, how they think, what they want, need and how to really understand that information.

Emotional intelligence is far more important in business and life than IQ. You don’t have to be smart in school do be rich.

The truth is, most A students end up working for B- and C students, because while the A students waste their time trying to memorize all the useless information you get in school which does not apply to real life, B & C students are spending that time learning about others, interacting with them and developing their social skills. this is why rich don’t want their kids to be top at school.

Business & Life are not about how able you are to regurgitate information, but instead, connect the dots in the real world and find ways to build your life on top of that.

Here is how to test it..

In order to assess how strong your EQ is, ask yourself

  • how well do you understand people,
  • is it easy for you to tell how other people feel,
  • what they want in general and what makes them behave the way they do?

Rate your emotional intelligence from 1 to 5 now.

If you’ve scored below 3 on this one, here’s what you can do to enhance it. We’re going to break this into a 2 part process as well. The first part has to do with yourself.

Take a piece of paper and start to analyse your own feelings.

  • Write down how you feel right now,
  • what about the last time you were really sad,
  • what happened and why were you sad?
  • What about happiness?

Try to do this exercise for as many emotions as you can. This will help you understand yourself better and get in control of your emotions.

The second part has to do with other people.

Next time you’re having a conversation with someone, try to actively listen and understand the other person.

When they talk, be in the present and not listen to the voice in your head which only think of what to ask next. Very few people are able to actively listen instead of just hearing things. Those who do have a way better shot at working well with people and guess what, if you want to be rich, you need to work with others and be in control of your feelings.

This is why this universe has given you 2 ears & one mouth, So shut up & listen”.

2.Don’t give a f**k about others people drama

Surprise surprise ! how many of you were in the battle between PewDiePie vs T-Series, or if you live in India the battle between Raftaar vs Emiway or Bigboss drama & now YouTube vs Tiktak in the time of writing of this article. There is a pretty good reason why city people are rich, like in South Mumbai & South Delhi (in India). They don’t give a f**k about this kind of drama, everyone is busy with their life. they focus on their own growth, future.on the other side poor people are very busy with supporting their members, cause they don’t have any work to do themselves.

So teach your children which the things that they need to follow as well as adding value to their life rather than following others drama. & which is worthless. Why they do it, follow the next point…

3. Entertainment is how the rich keep the poor docile

As long as they are fed and entertained, people believe their life is going well.

This is one of the illusions of power & one of the biggest chains keeping people in poverty. You’re playing FIFA, PUBG, fortnight,  imagining yourself as an army or athlete, but you don’t do it at your own expense. you are watching meaningless tv shows, useless media debate, fictional Netflix series, sports games in the same way as ancient Mughals or Romans watched slave bring thrown to the lion or tiger. You know it doesn’t do much for your current reality, but a good distraction is always welcoming. Isn’t it? Empty- entertainment is a form of addiction that takes years out of your life without you even realizing it.

Ordinary people love entertainment, extraordinary people love education

Rich parents always tell their kids what to watch & what not to watch.& most important do everything with a open mind.

4. learning constantly

Better experiences come from software upgrades. Poor people never upgrade, never fix what they’re lacking, never get to take full advantage of the opportunities available, because they choose not to.

Look at yourself for a second, before this article, what have you been doing today? How much of it was EDUCATION and how much of it was simple ENTERTAINMENT.

ENTERTAINMENT IS NOT MAKING YOU better!

the above gif is funny? isn’t it?

Learning is a lifelong process, you never stop learning, because the moment you do, you’re not growing, you’re just fading away with time.

You’re struggling, because you’re not learning enough. The simplest method of keeping track is by how many books did you read last year?

Rich people read a lot of books. When the average person reads 1 book per year. The average top CEO reads 50 books per year.

The average person is poor while those the CEOs are rich. Also, the CEOs read for the purpose of learning, while the average person reads for entertainment. Biographies and Self-Help books need to be your next best friend.

If you’re closer to the average person, you’re likely to end up just like them, because you’re not learning enough.

Read about the stories of great men and women, how they made their decisions, how they found their passion, how they faced risk, failure and humiliation. That’s how you grow. You study people like Steve Jobs, Elon Musk or anyone else you look up to.

Have more respect for yourself, even demand it. Stand up for what you believe and do not let others walk over you. It’s these small things that will hunt you when you get older.

4.How to be sociable and connect with other people& ability to bring quality people around them

You are the average of 5 people you hang out most of the time with. If you hung out with 5 billionaires sooner or later you will join that group, alternatively, if you hung out with 5 poor broke, guess who is the sixth?

You would think more people would realize how important it is to be able to have a pleasant conversation with others.

Successful people socialize their kids before the age of 4. Not even kidding.

Here’s why: if your child gets socialised that early, other kids will want to play with him. If he behaves well with other kids, other parents will want to take care of him when he or she plays with their own. This has a massive snowball effect through life. If people like you and like being around you, this builds up and doors open for you that otherwise wouldn’t. Teachers will treat you better, you will get access to better job opportunities, you will make better friends so there’s an entire tree of benefits that grows from early socialisation.

We’ve learned this valuable lesson from Dr. Jordan Peterson’s book, 12 Rules for Life.

Ohh yeah, and poor people never teach their kids to read, because they themselves don’t read…

5.Others treat you the way you treat yourself, not them.

Want everyone to take yourself seriously? Take yourself seriously first? Isn’t it weird when you realize that someone else’s attitude towards you depends on yourself and not the other person?! The way you present yourself, what you think of yourself, who you are as an individual, these are all in your control.

You can choose to grow, to learn, to improve. You as an individual, you are the sum of your experiences and beliefs. Once you fully accept a different set, the entire perception of the world about you will change.

Think of this small experiment, if you were to move to a new city where nobody ever knew you, wore different clothes, listened to different music, started speaking differently and change your interests, the people you’ll meet there, will accept your new version because this is the reality they encounter first.

Rich get this correct, they teach their child not to overvalue them as well as not undervalue them. While poor parents most of the time are inferior by themselves in their own eyes.

6. Having money doesn’t make you a better person, it just solves some of the problems.

Guess what if you are poor and you are an a**hole & you suddenly get rich, you are just an asshole with money now! as simple as that.

When you’re thinking of rich kids, you probably picture snotty, arrogant pricks who believe that just because they have money they’re better than anyone.

That’s not usually the case. Unless you inherit money, you probably worked your butt off to get to where you are in life. On the road to riches, you got to understand how valuable humility can be and most rich people are very humble individuals. Because they never forget where they came from, these values don’t get lost.

Humility and respect for others are some of the first lessons rich parents teach to their children, because they know what it feels like to be sitting on the other side.

You should never be ashamed of having money or being successful, it’s actually something the entire world should celebrate. A lesson most people figure out too late in life is that you can’t buy a clear conscious mind, no matter how much money you throw at it. Money pays for comforts of the body, but not for comforts of the mind and soul.

& If you want to know what kind of book your child should read in order to build some moral value in themselves. check this article that we have made some days ago. It’s a must-read for your child.

7.Everything is temporary

we think we still have plenty of years ahead of us.

Depending on your age, you’re not even thinking that far ahead, but even you yourself are temporary. Coping with the idea that everything you do, every person you meet, everything you build.. Is temporary, can be a reality shattering experience.

The family dog is temporary, your relationships are temporary, the items you buy are temporary, nothing really lasts.

It’s one of those things you can only fully grasp when you’ve already seen it happen in your past. We all want to live forever.. We all want to be eternal.

But everything you do, at some point, will be gone and people will have forgotten about it. So might as well go for it! At some point whatever the result, it will be gone and forgotten.

That’s why rich & successful people write books about their life That others can get benefitted by that as well as remember them.

8.Happiness is a choice &it requires a lot of hard work.

Happiness isn’t something that depends on other people or getting their approval. Happiness is something you experience yourself because your reality is in tone with your expectations.

The good news is, you can choose to be happy!

The bad is that you need to put some effort into it because as anything worth pursuing it won’t happen by itself – at least not to the degree, you’re looking for. There are only a few things in the world that money can’t buy. some of them are true happiness, real friends, true partner, time with your loved once, your past mistakes. & speaking of rich they are the most victim of superficiality.

For rich if you don’t have any anthemic relationship after some time you will find yourself at a very dangerous place surrounded by fake friends, people will always want to take away money from you.

If your child knows this science childhood, chances are he or she will not get frustrated by it rather he or she will leverage it for their own benefit.

9.Meditation & Sprituality

Unfortunately, meditation has a bad rap. Most people think it as it is for old people. Not only that some people confuse this with some religion or some worship. Meditation has nothing to do with any of it. Meditation is knowing yourself better which is the root cause of all problem that we have in this day n age. Here is a detail video on meditation & why your child should do this.

Being an Indian we have a vast history of spirituality in our country. We use to known as the spiritual hub of the world. unfortunately, after we have got this with western culture when British fast came in India. We demolished those as ancient useless prejudice. Now as we are getting more and more scientific, we are valuing those again.
